After receiving requests from both of our listeners, the Podcast Dudes™ knew it was time to resurrect the Potluck. I mean really, how has the gospel moved forward without our great works? Like a rough stone rolling, we dust of the cobwebs and plow through a session like we know what we talking about. We are a little rusty, and I can’t say our reunion broadcast went without a hitch (Sean: next time we’ll pay attention to your text messages), but as they say, when you fall off the horse, you have to get right back on the bicycle. If your not careful, that ship will sail!

Seriously, we are glad to be back. We are working on some great topics for future episodes and think you will enjoy the upcoming shows. Let us know what you think.

Show notes? We don’t need no stinkin’ show notes!

Okay, not really. We take a peek at this well worn phrase and what it has come to mean to most members. Sure, we try to mix a little fact and history in as well, so you may end up a little smarter after you listen. (This of course will only counter the effects of previous episodes, so you may just end up “less dumb”, patents pending.)

Okay, not really. We take a peek at this well worn phrase and what it has come to mean to most members. Sure, we try to mix a little fact and history in as well, so you may end up a little smarter after you listen. (This of course will only counter the effects of previous episodes, so you may just end up "less dumb", patents pending.)

Have you ever considered the difference between Mormon doctrine, and the policies that govern members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? In this episode, your hosts attempt to sort out what constitutes Mormon doctrine, and what practices seem to be based on policy alone.

On what doctrinal basis was the priesthood denied to some members? Do the monthly church publications The Ensign, or The Liahona constitute modern day scripture? Are some church policies not known by the general church membership?

Join us as we fire up the collective brain power of the brethren and attempt to form an opinion and answer questions about these important matters. <itunes:summary>Have you ever considered the difference between Mormon doctrine, and the policies that govern members of the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "The Mormons")":mormon? In this episode, your hosts attempt to sort out what constitutes Mormon doctrine, and what practices seem to be based on policy alone.

On what doctrinal basis was the priesthood denied to some members? Do the monthly church publications "The Ensign (The Ensign: Official Publication of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)":ensign, or "The Liahona (The Liahona: Official Publication of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)":liahona constitute modern day scripture? Are some church policies not known by the general church membership?

Join us as we fire up the collective brain power of the brethren and attempt to form an opinion and answer questions about these important matters. And remember, if you hear it on this show, it's Mormon doctrine according to the "Potluck Dudes (About the Mormon Potluck Podcast)":about!

One of the brethren moved, a couple of others have been traveling, and me, well been busy with other things. We are ironing out some technical issues so Brother Sean can join us from his new locale, and are feverishly working on our “Mormon Urban Legends” episode.

So stay tuned, we’ll be right back!
