About the utah discussion:

Yes, Bajios and Cafe Rio started here. So did Arctic Circle and believe it or not the first Kentucky Fried Chicken opened in Salt Lake City. I am sure there are more, but I can't think of it on the top of my head.

There have been a couple of In N Out wannabies so far around here. There was a place called lucky buns in Orem. It was pretty good but they were soooo slow. You would wait in the drive through for literally 10-20 min. some times. They went out of business. Right now there is chadders in American Fork and they have been the closest in taste. But it's no big deal though they still have some differences and slow utah teenage workers that can't get the speed down. Yeah they had (or are in) a lawsuit with In N Out. There keeps being talk about In N Out opening in Saint George but I doubt we will get one up here.

As far as the driving thing, no it's not really like that with driving really fast and not getting pulled over. What I have seen compared to Cali, is a greater disparity in driving speeds. You either have really slow or really fast drivers. It seemed like in Cali most people were going pretty good speeds on the freeways.

In Utah, there is Utah County (or happy valley) which includes Provo (BYU) and there is Salt Lake county. There is quite a difference with a higher majority of the population being lds (and of course the smaller rural areas in Utah) - but then you get in the Salt Lake area and it can quickly become more of a minority. There can be a lot of amenosity around here too along with anti-post lds groups. In Cali it was like "Oh you are mormon - thats cool, whatever" some areas in Salt Lake you almost don't want to bring it up. There are tons of in-actives all around and the kids in school is where you will see the members doing things like drinking or whatever.

Anyways there is more to say, but I am tired. If you ever need a guest on - I would be willing, on pretty much any topic.

Hello all.

Yes, I went to MacWorld. It was quite the time.

- The coolest thing about the macbook air is the
"wireless" network book, and "wireless" optical drive feature. What's also neat is if you opt for the solid state drive, your virtual memory swap is practically as fast as the normal RAM, so things will be much snappier.

- I'm excited for the Apple TV 2.0 update, but they definately need to get it open to 3rd party developers.

- A cool product was the iTornado - basically it's the easiest way to start a transfer of files between a PC and a Mac. It's the little device that hooks between the two and it autoloads on the PC, and on the Mac a little app displays that instantly starts up a filesharing session.

- It's good to finally have Mac Office 2008, finally it is coded for Intel, and it will be compatible with 2007 docx from windows.

- Parallels and VMware are fighting it out for who has the better windows virtualization product. All while software developers are coming out from the woodworks that had not considered making programs for the Mac. One cool idea: Kerio mail server; it is an exchange mail server replacement that can run on a mac server and offers FULL exchange capabilities for 1/5 the cost.

All in all it was a good event. Keep up your technology segments! (I hope it does not bore too many people)

In case you hadn't noticed...you've got a spammer on the forums. He/She/It registered as Crorbonerly.

Wouldn't it be cool to figure out a way to anonymously forward all our personal email spam to these people?

Hello Boys,
Most of my life has been away from Utah. I grew up in the East, went to Dixie College and BYU was in the service in California (Japan, Viet Nam and Thailand) so I think I have living credentials. So in my experience having a testimony is the same no matter where I've lived.

If I had a perference however it would be to live in the West anywhere as its much more laid back.

Keep up the good work!
