May I suggest you discuss ClearPlay DVD players, and filters. It is a great alternative to Clean Flicks and doesn't cause any copyright issues. It is also interactive and you can choose what you want to be filtered out of movies you watch. I believe it is a great tool for Mormon families. I haven't used one yet but I heard Glenn Beck talking that it is what his family uses and he says it works great. I would like to hear more about it, I've been researching it but haven't come to a conclusion on it quite yet.

I just discovered your podcast and am enjoying getting caught up.
I must say that in the past I have been more uncomfortable/insulted by things I have seen in PG-13 rated movies than by R rated movies.
I thought States of Grace was fairly mediocre up until the ending scene the manger. That was the real message of the movie.
By the way, I'm a high priest living in Vernal, Utah. Keep up the great podcast.

I also really enjoyed states of grace. I thought the movie had some redeeming qualities. Also I think it would be a good movie for all prospective missionaries to watch. If it could help even one missionary stay away from certain things then it has been a great help.

I'm not a fan of LDS movies. Other Side a heavan was good. Thats about it, Brigham city was pretty badd along with the rest of them. Singles Ward is horrible except for all the great Cameos by Famous Mormons!!!!

Great episode guys, thanks for the research on different statements on R-rated movies, its good to have some sources.

For the record I really enjoyed "States of Grace", but I can understand Mitchell thinking it was a mistake to see it with teenage children, I would have also been uncomfortable in that situation. I think that Richard Dutcher is a talented film maker and i was sad to hear that he is "taking a break" from the Church, but i wish him luck.

Keep it up, the podcasts have been fun, I enjoy the topics. A mormon actor segment might be fun, it you look on famousmormons.com, there are quite a few, but most are not active members at this point in their lives. It would be a hard industry to work in and be a member, anyways, looking forward to the next one!

Greetings Gentlemen,
I have been listening to your podcast almost since the beginning and love it! Though my inner-historian is in pain at you guys not knowing when polygamy was stopped/suspended/whatever... For the record the stopping started in 1890 with the official declaration #1 and you might have been correct that it was incredibly hard for the faithful saints to stop practicing it. Several Apostles left/got excommunicated/released from the quorum over the practice. Also Reed Smoot was a significant person in the early 1900's. He was an Apostle and not a polygamy practicer and was elected to the Senate in like 1900. There was a significant effort to not allow him to take a seat in the Senate and there were hearings for like a year over the controversy. The president of the Church (Joseph F. Smith) gave testimony at them and everything. Elder Smoot became quite a significant political force later, he got a tariff passed which some people think caused the Great Depression, it was called the Smoot/Hawley tariff.

Finally I love the story you did about the GTD lists. I even went so far to actually see if my library had a copy (They didn't but promised an inner-library loan which will undoubtedly get here as soon as I go on vacation.) Also I have subscribed to Audible and have for years. I love audio books!

Keep up the good work boys!
